Of course, Malay food will be the most common and accessible for visitors to the city. The pungency is what prevails in the flavor range of these dishes. Fish and beef are held in high esteem by local chefs, but alcohol and pork are not involved in the cooking process.

All catering establishments can be roughly divided into three classes. The first category includes numerous outdoor stalls in the open air, however, the spread in the quality of food is quite significant. But this is the cheapest way to satisfy your hunger. The second class includes numerous food courts that can be found near every shopping center. The third class is restaurants located both in the open air and in separate buildings.

The most common dishes are:

Nasi Lemak - white rice cooked in coconut milk with spicy seasoning and anchovies;
Roti Jala - somewhat reminiscent of net bread, made from eggs, flour, turmeric and butter;
Satay is akin to our kebabs, but much smaller and sweeter. Prepared from marinated meat, grilled on charcoal. Most often, beef or chicken is taken for cooking, but you can also find options from venison or rabbit. Finished satay is poured with peanut sauce, and rice is used as a side dish.

Where to eat?

The restaurant Sate Kajang Haji Samuri, located in the residential quarters of Damansar, offers the maximum appreciation of the taste of such food.
