Holidays in Kuala Lumpur

On Malacca island, at the intersection of Clank and Gambak located one of the brightest capitals, Kuala Lumpur, or as the locals call it K-L. Here, perhaps, there is everything - from huge trading houses to green parks stretching for a mile and ancient mosques. Anyone who dares to fly across the ocean and endure a 10-hour voyage will find entertainment for every taste, spicy and sour traditional food and a lot of positive memories.
It's hard to believe, but even 150 years ago this city was just a dirty river mouth. So, after the mass arrival of Chinese tin miners, Kuala Lumpur has changed beyond recognition.
Those who are used to traveling on their own and sightseeing without a guide and tour groups can rent a car in Malaysia at a rental office and not depend on anyone. Renting a car at Langkawi Airport will cost an average of 18 euros per day, in Kuala Lumpur from 20 euros per day.
Attractions
The oldest building today is Jamek Mosque, a visit to which is a must upon arrival. The mosque is made in red and white, it is crowned with three large-scale silver domes. Not only the beauty of the building can hook a tourist - the flora surrounding it can also amaze to the core. Spreading palm trees, casting shadows, ficuses and pomegranates shimmering with emeralds, juicy lemons surround the mosque in a ring. There is a mandatory dress code for visiting the mosque - men cannot wear T-shirts and shorts, and women cannot wear skirts above the knee and sweaters with bare shoulders.

For lovers of beautiful views, a visit to Petronas Towers is perfect. The highest towers in the world are connected by a glass bridge at the level of the 40th floor, which is almost 120 meters. Tourists here will appreciate the art gallery, made in the traditional Malaysian style.
Vacation with children
Feeding dolphins, shows with all kinds of sea creatures or even diving with sharks for young animal lovers can offer the Aquaria KLCC, which, by the way, is located very close to the Petronas Towers. 5 thousand fish swim here, about 100 of which are rare.
If modern and active recreation is a priority, you should give preference to amusement parks - there are a huge number of them in Kuala Lumpur. The most popular, however, and the largest is Berjaya Times Square Theme Park, which is divided into 2 zones - Fantasy Garden, consisting of 8 rides for the little ones, and Galaxy Station for older visitors.

National cuisine
As for traditional Malaysian dishes, everything is simple here. Since ancient times, the inhabitants of southwestern Asia have preferred rice, creeping, sea reptiles and vegetables. Here is a list of dishes to try on vacation:
Bring Limak. This is rice cooked in coconut milk. Despite the specific composition, this is not a sweetness or a delicacy, but a completely ordinary dish that is eaten every day. Served with fish, eggs, capers and nuts.
Nesi Gargen, fried rice with seafood and vegetables. This dish is present in the Central Asian cuisine of many countries. In Thailand it is Khao Phat, in China it is Chao Fan, in Vietnam it is Kom Shien. Street food lovers will definitely like it.

Bring Degen. Prepared from rice in coconut milk and curry with fish sauce.
Kechan is a creamy corn, bean and nut jelly topped with a pink topping.
Sato yam is a spicy soup with chicken and vegetables.
Beaches
Beach holidays in Malaysia begin from December-January. Specifically, in Kuala Lumpur there are no beaches for tourists, but from the city you can get to Langkawi and Penang islands.

Kuala Lumpur is a fast city. It moves non-stop, taking you headlong into adventure. With the heavenly tranquility of distant islands and the liveliness of megacities in its contrast, the capital of Malaysia, perhaps, can compete with all the major cities of both Asia and Europe, but its main difference is in the centuries-old color, endlessly cheerful people and the holiday atmosphere that haunts all the way.
