Vienna is the city of meta, the city of music - it has many names, but none of them can fully convey all the splendor and all the grandeur of this most beautiful city. Every tourist should visit the capital of Austria, and in order not to waste time and pay attention to the main attractions, it is worth know them in advance.

1. Hofburg Palace. 

Hofburg Palace was built in the 13th century, and since then it has become an invariable attribute of all the rulers of Austria. For many hundreds of years, the Habsburgs, considered one of the greatest monarchs of Europe, lived in this palace. To date, the building has been turned into a museum and at the same time the home of the Austrian President. Only three parts of this palace are open to tourists: the Sisi Museum, which is dedicated to the great Elizabeth of Bavaria, the apartments of the Emperor himself and a collection of silver. The latter is a huge collection of funds and utensils used by members of the emperor's family.


2. Schönburn Palace. 

This modern museum was in earlier times the summer residence of the Habsburg family, and to this day it impresses with its splendor and sophistication. It is worth noting that only 40 of the huge number of rooms are available to tourists. Schönburn Palace, like the park adjacent to it, belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

3. St. Stephen's Cathedral. 

Also, St. Stephen's Cathedral is often called Stephansdom, and back in the 12th century it was just an ordinary parish church. However, many years have passed and now this Cathedral is the main Catholic church of the archbishop in Vienna. During the Great Patriotic War, it was badly damaged by explosions and fires, but at the moment the building has already been completely restored, and daily worship services did not stop here even during the restoration.


4. Museum Treasury of the Emperor. 

For centuries, this building has been storing various accessories for church and secular needs and relics, so valuable that it is impossible to measure with any money. These include baroque altarpieces, images with religious themes, and a variety of attributes of the emperor's power. An incredibly rich collection of imperial jewelry made by the most talented craftsmen cannot leave indifferent even the most sophisticated visitors. By visiting this place, tourists will have the opportunity to see true treasures, for example, a rose made of pure gold, Turkish sabers adorned with diamonds, an emerald from Colombia and weighing 2680 carats, as well as the most important jewel - the emperor's crown.

5. Belvedere Castle.

This magnificent castle is one of the best representatives of the Baroque style in the world. This building was designed by Johann Lucas specifically for His Majesty Prince Eugene of Savoy, the great strategist and commander. The halls are decorated with simply impressive frescoes, in which most of the works are the works of world-famous names Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka and Gustav Klimt. The beautiful and graceful landscaped gardens have the power to evoke romantic thoughts as they fall like a curtain in a theater to reveal the beautiful skyline of the city of Vienna!
