Religious sights of Israel

Israel is a state with a difficult fate. Each part of it can be considered the most important shrine. On its territory there are many temples, which can be visited by representatives of all faiths.

The main Christian shrine of the planet is the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. It is a large complex of buildings erected on the alleged places of execution, burial and resurrection of Christ. It is located in the ancient part of the city. Pilgrims began to come here as early as the 4th century, and the popularity of this place has not faded to this day.

A lot of tourists consider renting a car one of the best ways to enjoy all that Israel has to offer. Renting an economy class car in Tel Aviv will cost about 17 euros per day, in Eilat - about 16 euros per day.

It is here that the annual rite of the descent of the Holy Fire takes place. This process is followed not only by the entire Christian world, but also by all lovers of grandiose spectacles.

The main building of the complex is made in the Romanesque style, and the central attraction of this place is the Holy Fire Column. The temple has been the subject of controversy between Christians and Muslims for many centuries, so now it is in their common possession. The shrine is shared by various Christian denominations, and the keys to it belong to Judy, an Arab dynasty.

The main parts of the complex: the burial place of Jesus, Golgotha and the temple of Empress Helena. There are also several monasteries and galleries here. The main relic is the resting place of the Savior, known as the Holy Sepulcher. Now the Lodge is covered with a marble slab: this is necessary so that people do not try to chip off parts of it as a keepsake.

Above the cave in which God's son was born, there is the Church of the Nativity. The building was built over 1500 years ago and has survived almost unchanged. The temple in Bethlehem earned special respect among the people: it was practically not destroyed. A serious disaster in its fate was the fire of 529, after which it had to be rebuilt.

It is still not known for sure whether Empress Elena chose the right place or whether she simply wanted to save the cave for posterity. However, for many centuries thousands of pilgrims have been coming here to see the Christmas service and touch the former grandeur.

On the Temple Mount is the most important Muslim shrine - the Al-Aqsa Mosque. It was built in the 7th century. It is 80 meters long and 55 meters wide. About 5,000 believers can pray within its walls at the same time. There are burial places of many prophets and religious figures.

Inside the mosque, at a height of 17 meters, there is a hemisphere lined with mosaics and lined with lead sheets. Everyone can visit the shrine, but only with certain conditions: it is forbidden to smoke and take pictures inside, and men and women should not touch each other.

Israel is a unique state that charges with incredible energy and helps to believe in the events of the distant past.
