Nissi Beach. Aia Napa's most popular beach

Those who travelled to Cyprus have definitely heard about Nissi Beach - white sand, azure color of the sea and noisy fun parties. The beach was awarded the EU Blue Flag award, which can only be obtained if certain criteria are met, such as cleanliness, safety, environmental protection, etc. Also, according to the famous site tripadvisor, Nissi Beach is included in the top 10 beaches in Europe. Many tourists prefer to use the car rental services in Cyprus, some book in advance online, others on the spot. The average cost of renting a car in Ayia Napa is from 9 euros per day, in Larnaca the cost of renting is about the same - "standard" class car is from 22 euros per day.

What attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world here?

First of all, the color of the sea here is really amazingly blue, and the water is clear.

Secondly, fine white sand that crunches underfoot, uncharacteristic for this region. The thing is that it was brought here 20 years ago, and every year before the start of the season, it is cleaned and brought in if necessary. The length of the coastline allows both young people and families with children to relax. At the beginning of the April-May season, there are not many people, but from June to the end of September from lunchtime you will hardly find a free seat. Part of the beach near the bar is always full of young people, here from 10 am until late at night the DJ plays music, and the promoters of different clubs entertain and invite them to their places in the evening.

The youth are mainly Scandinavian and English, but our compatriots are also added every year. At the opposite end of the beach, mothers and children bask in the sun and warm water. The entrance to the water is shallow, there are no waves, and you don't have to worry about the kids. Lifeguards work on the beach strictly from 8 am to 6 pm; swimming at night is not recommended. There are water sports rentals on the beach, as well as a parasailing boat trip.

A small island rises 50 meters from the coast, which is why the beach is called Nissi. Nissi is translated from Greek as an island. A narrow strip of sand goes to the island, which hides under water during the day. There is nothing on the island itself, but you can take stunning photos against the backdrop of the beach or sea at sunset. From the cliff on the island, reckless youth jump into the sea, they are not frightened by prohibitory signs or annual accidents.

The beach is on the outskirts of Ayia Napa, but you can find a cafe or restaurant nearby for all tastes. On average, a lunch for two will cost 25-30 euros, including drinks. You can hardly dine normally on the beach. There are 2-3 cafes here, but the menu consists mainly of fast food and cocktails. In the huge parking lot, there are 2 small kiosks where you can find everything you need: umbrellas, balls, rubber rings, drinks, food and even swimwear. The territory of the famous 4 and 5-star hotels overlooks the beach itself, but the territory of the beach, sun loungers and umbrellas are municipal.

The cost is the same throughout Cyprus, an umbrella and 2 sun loungers will cost you 7.5 euros per day, there is also free internet. You can get to Nissi Beach from the city center by several buses # 102, # 502 and # 711. The fare is 1.5 euros during the day and 2.5 euros at night. If you rented a car, the beach is located at the very beginning of Nissi Avenue, there is free parking.

When is the best time to visit Nissi Beach?

Here everyone decides for himself. There are relatively few tourists at the beginning of the season, but the water is cool. The average water temperature is about 21 degrees. In June-August, the peak of the season is the sun fries, but the water is like fresh milk. In any case, this beach is worth a visit.
