Yes, it is true that the plot of the movie revolves around a character named Marco Polo (Carlo Cecchi) who has to rent a car at the Venice Airport. However, the movie does not solely focus on him and his quest for a rented car. The movie also shows how using the airport's car rentals services can work to the benefit of both the airport and its travelers.

However, what makes the movie even more interesting is how it uses the use of car rental discounts to make life easier for its characters. As mentioned before, in the opening scene of the movie, Marco Polo is seen walking into the lobby of the airport with his driver. There he meets civilians who are also taking advantage of the discounted car services that the airport has to offer.
These civilians take advantage of the deals that are offered by the airport and end up having to pay almost double the price for the same car as what they would usually be paying if they were to hire a car from their local car rental agency. In the end, Marco Polo realizes that there are better ways of getting around town. He goes on to find that using the city's public transportation system is a better idea and thus, decides to rent a motorcycle instead of using his special car for the trip.
